Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. - Fifteen local charities that benefit from THE PLAYERS gathered yesterday morning for a charity shootout on the 17th hole at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. Each charity selected a celebrity or representative to take a shot at the famous island green, with the person who ended up closest to the pin in Round 1 earning a $10,000 donation for that organization.
True Blue Navy Benefactors, represented by Jeff Prosser (Host of The Drill radio show, 1010XL), hit a great shot to 16 feet, 6 inches, but it wasn't enough to beat Curtis Dvorak in his full Jaxson de Ville Jacksonville Jaguars mascot uniform. Curtis was playing for The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund and was the first-round winner after he put his ball 4 feet, 9 inches from the pin.
True Blue: Navy Families Benefactors, Inc. is an all volunteer nonprofit formed In January 2012 to enhance the quality of life for Jacksonville, Florida, Navy families.
